Toots LeBlanc & Co. Yarns
Come meet the lovely Michele and her husband Mike Dillon of Toots LeBlanc & Co. Yarns. We are the only retail yarn shop carrying this very special yarn, blended with care by Michele LeBlanc Dillon. Michele has been working with a select group of micro-farms for many years and custom blends these all natural fibers to create her beautiful un-dyed yarns.
Michele is like a vintner in this respect, and she notes the terroir effect on her fibers by dating her yarns by year. We are thrilled at the chance to offer you some of these limited edition yarns with their unique halo-ing effect. Limited quantities, so come early for best selection.
Shaggy Bear Farms
Meet Wendy Hanson and learn about her very special yarns and fibers from Shaggy Bear Farms. Wendy runs a “Farm to Needle” operation, managing a flock of over 400 animals. She knows them all by name – and sings to them as she shears them! Many of these are “rescue” animals, who have found a happy home with Wendy and her husband.
Come check out all of the many fiber combinations in Wendy’s yarns, and meet Wendy herself. You will leave knowing a lot more about the life of a small independent Farmer and Dyer.
Knitted Wit Yarns
Come meet the zany and creative proprietor of Knitted Wit – Lorajean Kelley! She has aptly named her company Knitted Wit, as LJ is always up to something clever with her hand-dyed yarns. Whether it’s creating a new yarn category called Gumballs or dyeing yarn to match the carpet at PDX Airport, Lorajean’s creativity always equals FUN, and we love her new Gradients!!
We are pleased to be using Knitted Wit yarns in both our knitted and crocheted featured Northwest Wools patterns for the 2016 Rose City Yarn Crawl. So exciting – and of course a secret to be unveiled soon!
