Hydrangea Shoulder Warmer
Peg Silloway, one of Northwest Wools’s weaving instructors, designed the Hydrangea Shoulder Warmer as our Unofficial Shop Weaving Pattern for the 2022 Rose City Yarn Crawl. The Hydrangea is a soft wrap that creates warmth while leaving your hands and arms free. This cozy accessory uses a Mobius turn to give the piece unstructured drape.
The Shoulder Warmer is woven in plain weave on either a rigid heddle or a shaft loom. It uses two skeins of The Alpaca Yarn Co.'s Mariquita yarn, a lovely blend of alpaca and Tencel. Soft and warm, this is the accessory you'll find yourself reaching for again and again!
This design is for those who have a beginner’s level of weaving experience, who know how to warp their loom, thread it, do plain weave, hemstitch, and wet finish their weaving. The kit includes 2 skeins of Mariquita yarn and the pattern.
