Introduction to Fiber Wall Art
Specialty Knitting Class
Friday, October 7
2:00 - 5:00 pm
Learn how to turn your knitting into wall art! This class will teach you what adjustments you need to make in order to display your work, and how to tend to it over time to keep it looking its best.
This class will be taught by guest artist Lisa Louie. Known as "The Volcano Knitter," Lisa is a long-time knitter who started making display art and unique wearables to continue knitting in Hawaii's weather.
This class has homework -- a swatch you need to complete and bring with you to class. Instructions for the swatch will be provided upon registration.
About 20 yards each of dk- or-sport weight yarn in 4 colors: blue, tan, green, and yellow or pink to look like water, sand, the mountains, and sunrise/sunset.
Assorted needles, including a size or two smaller and a size or two larger than you used for your swatch.
Bring something to hang your sample on like a dowel, spare DPN, or pencil.
Your usual knitting supplies like scissors, markers, sewing up needle, etc.
Un-wound yarn and like-new needles and accessories may be returned for store credit. All returns must be accompanied by a receipt.
We reserve the right to cancel classes any time before the day of the class. We will make every effort to contact students via the contact methods provided at checkout. If Northwest Wools cancels a class, students will receive a full refund.
Students may cancel their registration up to one week in advance of the beginning of class and receive a full refund. Otherwise, classes are non-refundable.
