While Medusa’s head inspires fear, her tail is much safer—and more beautiful—to look at. You can sport a scaly look of your own with this fun-to-crochet cowl! The Medusa Cowl, our 2026 Rose City Yarn Crawl crochet pattern, is composed of two panels: one features shell stitch, and the other uses crocodile stitch to mimic Medusa’s scales. And it's all done with just one skein of Schoppel-Wolle's Zauberball Starke 6!

The cowl is worked in two parts: the back shell panel and the front crocodile panel. Panels are joined together along the short side.

Kit includes pattern and one skein of Schoppel-Wolle Zauberball Starke 6 (75% Wool, 25% Nylon; 437 yds per 150 g ball).

Recommended hook size: US size 7/4.5 mm (not included)

  • Returns

    Unwound, like-new yarn may be returned in-store for store credit within 6 months of purchase. Like-new knitting needles and crochet hooks with original packaging may be returned in-store for store credit within 1 week of purchase. 

    All items must be accompanied by a receipt. If a return must be shipped back to Northwest Wools, the customer is responsible for all shipping costs.

    No returns or exchanges are accepted on any other items, clearance items, or trunk show items.

  • Dye Lots

    Prepackged kits will include yarns of the same dye lot; however, when purchasing yarn by the skein we cannnot garuntee that all skeins in an order will be from the same lot. If you are purchasing multiple skeins for the same project or are attempting to match the dye lot of skeins you already have, please call the shop at (503) 244-5024 to confirm the lot before placing your order.

  • Classes

    We reserve the right to cancel classes any time before the day of the class. We will make every effort to contact students via the contact methods provided at checkout. If Northwest Wools cancels a class, students will receive a full refund.

    Students may cancel their registration up to one week in advance of the beginning of class and receive a full refund. Otherwise, classes are non-refundable.
